History

In the 1930s in Campo di Ne, in Valgraveglia, the Circella family ran an inn which was also a shop, a mill and an oil press and which became a meeting place for the village farmers. In later years, only the olive press survived. In 1987 however, the younger members of the family decided to honour the family tradition and renovate the old farmhouse. The name “Brinca” was the legacy of the young girl who was known by this name and who lived in the house in the mid nineteenth century.

The Tradition

La Brinca is a family tradition which has been handed down, from father to son, for generations. Research into the family history shows that a young girl named “Texinin”, whose family was known as “the Brincas” left her home in Cogorno, in the mid nineteenth century and, in the name of love, came to live in Ne. In a house, high on a hill, next to a church, La Brinca was born. Many years have passed since Texinin lived within these old walls but her essence, the love wich she felt for her home and its land is still tangible and lives on in her descendants.
